Why women prefer tampons

Tampons offer the most convenient protection during your period, and give you the freedom to go about your normal activities. You won't have to worry about uncomfortable rubbing or chafing or the menstrual odour you can experience with sanitary pads.

Your vaginal muscles keep the tampon in place so you don't have to worry about it falling out. If you have inserted it properly, you won't be able to feel it at all. A securely attached cord runs through each tampon so there is no chance of the cord becoming detached from the tampon. The lower part of the cord remains outside your body, allowing for easy removal.

Tampons are available in a range of different absorbencies to suit the changing flow of blood during your period. On light days, use the lowest absorbency for your flow and switch to a heavier absorbency for your heavy days. Once you have established the pattern of flow of your period, you will easily be able to know which absorbency to use for each day. You will probably find that a regular size tampon will be suitable for a light to medium flow, and a super size tampon can be used for your heaviest day. Be sure not to use a heavier absorbency than you need for your flow on any day.
